Privacy Policy for the ELHABAK platform and app
Last updated: 4 November 2026. This page explains what data the ELHABAK Engineering Consultancy platform (website and Android app) handles and how we use and protect it.
Who we are
The platform is operated by ELHABAK Engineering Consultancy (الحباك للاستشارات الهندسية), an engineering consultancy in Egypt, to track projects between the company and its clients, engineers, accountants and workers. Accounts are created by the company; there is no public self-registration.
Data we handle
- Account data: name, email address and role. Passwords are stored only as a hash, never as plain text.
- Project data, according to your role: documents, designs, photos, videos, messages, voice notes and project finance records.
- Activity log: significant project actions are recorded with their time for accountability and audit.
- Session: a strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in.
Device permissions in the Android app
- Camera: to take a photo or video and attach it to a site update or document. It runs only when you choose to.
- Microphone: to record a voice note in a project conversation. It records only after you start recording.
- Only files you pick yourself are uploaded; the app does not browse your gallery or device files on its own.
How we use data and who gets it
We use data only to run the platform: showing projects, designs, progress and documents to the people who are authorised to see them. Each user sees only what belongs to their role and projects.
We do not sell data, show ads, or use third-party tracking or analytics tools inside the platform. Data and files are stored on servers operated by the company.
Security and retention
Connections use HTTPS, access rules are enforced on the server by role, and regular backups are taken. Financial records are never deleted or edited in amount; they are voided with a documented entry, so we may keep them as business records even after an account is closed.
We keep project data for the life of the project and then for as long as business records and legal obligations require.
Your rights and account deletion
You can ask to see or correct your data, or to have your account deactivated or deleted, by emailing us below from the address registered to your account. We review the request and carry out what does not conflict with business records or legal obligations, and we will tell you what could not be deleted and why.
The platform is not directed at children under 13. We may update this policy and will change the last-updated date above when we do.
